At the end of last year, an old friend of mine asked me to photograph her wedding. At first I was like.. 'umm are you sure?". As much as I do love photography, I've never done it in a professional sense and certainly not a wedding. But I figured, having filmed so many weddings now, I'd have a good understanding of what key moments need to be captured. And, only good things come from challenging yourself and trying something new, right?
I'm very happy to report that it was an incredible day. Adele and Dan's wedding was a relaxed, informal affair with lots of colour and a touch of 1950's retro chic. Adele looks totally amazing in tea length wedding dress and victory rolls. Plus she had the most awesome ice-cream shoes and matching headpiece! Up, the rooftop bar at the Valley's new boutique hotel, Tryp, was the perfect setting, with their coloured seating and potted flowers. The happy couple booked out the whole of Bucci, on James Street for their intimate reception.
It was so wonderful to see Adele and Dan get married, and while I think I'll stick with videography, I did love capturing their day through still images. Big thanks to our good friend, Ash Altmann who took care of the editing for me., we make a pretty awesome team!
